The cries are growing louder:

Message to Hendrick Motosports... enough speculations, get us the branding info for Dale Jr.

Fans of NASCAR's most popular driver need to know which way to go. Gotta get that new Jr. stuff.

He is the most sought- after branding in the sport.

And like a driver that's looking for lucrative deal for next year, you have to work fast as the best options of top -shelf personalized gear disappears rapidly, that being the stuff that makes you unique in the world of JR. fandom.

Hendrick Motorsports has applied to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for possible use of five numbers by Earnhardt next season: 38, 51, 58, 81 and 82.

Widely speculated is that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be running the number 81 for his primary season with Rick Hendrick. In North Carolina, it takes a few weeks to get a vanity tag with Jr.'s new number for your car and they are costly, a personalized NASCAR themed plate beginning at 60.00 dollars each.

Just cost prohibitive enough that ordering specualtive tags is not in the equation. And ordering is done on a first come , first served basis, but you get three choices to make your own. So somebody will be the proud owner of the number 81 by itself. Everybody else will have to take a variation thereof.

*81, 814ME, DEJR81, 81JR, ... and so forth.. you get the idea.. EIGHTYONE is out simply because you are limited to eight letters and/or numbers, seven if the plate is for a motorcycle.

And there's color sceme of potential sponsors, there's been the ultra lime green of Mountain Dew soft drink mentioned, an enegry drink variation still in the chartruese family, (much like the old Plymouth /Dodge colors of Sublime and Sassy Grassy Green, MOPAR heads know exactly what I'm talking about).

Lots of considerations.

So let's get it on Hendrick. Daytona 2008 isn't that far away and Jr. fans have dollars waiting to be spent.
